British Sky Broadcasting Group Plc has added 121,000 paying subscribers to its books in the last three months, bringing the total to a claimed 6.2 million in the UK and Ireland. The new viewers have helped Sky to a third quarter pre-tax profit of 81.6m pounds, up 14.6% on the same period last year. Revenues rose 20.3% to 327.5m pounds in the quarter. Subscriptions were 84% of turnover with 11% provided by advertising. Absorbed into the figures are 3.4m pounds worth of losses from Sky’s associated businesses and undertakings in which the company has a less than 50% share.
