BSB Datavision, the business communications subsidiary of British Satellite Broadcasting, one of six companies awarded a licence for the provision of one-way, point-to-multipoint communications via satellite, launched its services yesterday with the transmission of an analysis of Tuesday’s Budget: the 30 minute programme featured Price Waterhouse experts, and was transmitted to seven Price Waterhouse offices; BSB Datavision also announced a pilot scheme with the National Westminster Bank; the company will broadcast data to any number of sites, in addition to testing transmission of data files to micros via 9.6Kbps and 19.2Kbps links; BSB Datavision is looking for UKP5m in its first year of operation, and expects to install Dataports on domestic receivers by the summer.
