Brother Industries Ltd and Smith Corona Corp agreed to request termination of trade litigation filed over the last 14 years: seeking the end of a suspended anti-dumping investigation of portable electric typewriters from Singapore and request revocation of antidumping duty orders affecting portable electric typewriters and personal word processors from Japan; the US Commerce Department must agree to revoke the orders and end the suspended litigation and Brother and Smith Corona expect Commerce to take this action soon; the firms said related litigation in the US Court of International Trade will also be dismissed as a result; the Justice Department and International Trade Commission have agreed to the dismissal of the litigation.
