BROOKTROUT INCORPORATES CAS SUPPORT, FACSIMILE BOARDS COMPATIBLE WITH MOST NETWORK FAX SERVERS

By CBR Staff Writer

Needham, Massachusetts-based Brooktrout Technology Inc has introduced support for the Communicating Applications Specification on its TR Series and TruFax facsimile boards, and has also launched an application development tool kit also based on CAS. Through support for CAS, the company now claims that its facsimile boards are compatible with virtually every leading network facsimile server application, including Delrina Corp’s WinFax Pro for Networks, CommSuite for Networks, and NETsatisFAXtion, which was recently acquired from Intel Corp, as well as Cheyenne Software’s FaxServe. Prices for the TR boards – which, says Brooktrout, come with two to eight facsimile channels per board – start at $2,000, while the two-channel TruFax boards start at $800. Pricing is not yet available for developers’ tool kit.
