BROOKTREE READY FOR A FLATTENING UNIX MARKET

Is the Unix workstation market really going ex-growth? San Diego, California-based Brooktree Corp definitely thinks so, and says that it is seeking to diversify the market focus for its integrated circuit products, to offset the flattening of its core market: Brooktree designs and markets mixed-signal integrated circuits, and says it is now pursuing the high end of the personal computer market – it already claims 80% to 90% of the workstation mixed signal – analogue and digital – integrated circuits market for workstations; it is now working on chips for multimedia.
