German electronic banking and commerce software developer Brokat Infosystems AG has reported a net loss for its third fiscal quarter ended March 31 of DM2.6m ($1.41m) on revenue that rose 125% to DM17.6m ($9.56m). This compared to a loss in the same quarter last year of DM7.1m ($3.86m). Stuttgart-based Brokat, which is quoted on Frankfurt’s small cap exchange, the Neuer Markt, said the loss was the result of investments in expanding the company internationally, as well as in taking on new staff. This included both the merger with another German e-commerce software developer, MeTechnology, and the acquisition of Atlanta, Georgia-based Transaction Software Technologies Inc.
