The latest quarterly financial figures published by German e-business vendor Brokat Infosystems AG again showed a net loss, bringing the total loss for the first half of its fiscal year (ending December 31) to $6.62m on revenues of $11.31m. The company floated on the Neuer Markt in Frankfurt in September last year (CI No. 3,498) and thus did not have comparable figures for the same period in its previous financial year. In any case, it said the result was within its expectations. The first quarter loss had been blamed on the costs associated with the initial public offering, while the second quarter loss was, it said, caused by the cost of expanding its international sales and marketing network. The company is now present in both the USA and the UK, and added that, as a result, revenues from outside Germany had represented 56% of the total in the second quarter, compared to 38% in the previous three months.
