BRODERBUND Q1 PROFITS SLUMP 44%

Broderbund Software Inc, Novato, California says fiscal first quarter net profits slumped 44% after declining sales of its main educational software products. Although sales of its productivity and education products rose in the quarter, sales of its entertainment titles declined because of a lack of new products, the company said.
