Brocade has been selected by the US Army as part of its Installation Information Infrastructure Modernisation Program (I3MP) at Fort Carson.

Under the I3MP, Brocade has deployed network to support advanced voice, video and critical military apps to modernise the base’s core enterprise information infrastructure.

Brocade said that the installation was a core-to-edge deployment of 100Gigabit Ethernet (GbE)-ready routers and 10GbE aggregation and LAN switches.

Brocade has deployed its 100GbE-ready NetIron XMR Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) IPv6-ready core routers as the backbone of the network.

The MPLS provides Quality of Service (QoS) and reduced latency times for critical online apps and services.

Brocade chief marketing officer John McHugh said the selection of Brocade by the US Army’s I3MP program was a significant win for the company, highlighting their proven expertise in providing high-performance, non-stop networking offerings to government organisations worldwide.

"By meeting the I3MP network and service requirements, Brocade is well-positioned to further extend its market presence within the government sector as a leading networking provider to support and optimise mission-critical applications," McHugh said.
