BRITTON, LEE QUIT BRITTON LEE TO START NEW FIRM

By CBR Staff Writer

Britton Lee Inc co-founders David Britton and Geoffrey Lee have ended their nine-year association with the eponymous Saratoga, California company and say they plan a new venture. They still hold 15% of the stock, but say they want to give the new management a free hand in running Britton Lee without any perceived interference from the two founders. Britton says that the new venture will focus on user application systems. Fifth generation computing systems are now possible using data techniques learned in building relational shared database systems. Today’s personal computers have the power to solve most of the industry’s application problems using integrated data design and database technologies. Total solutions can be provided that can be called fifth generation computing systems in the cost range of personal computers. Where Britton Lee Inc was funded primarily by European pension funds, the new firm will look for backing from corporate customers or from OEM partners.
