The most popular reasons for accessing Alliance & Leicester’s internet banking site were to check balances (96%) and make payments and transfer money (76%).

Alliance & Leicester said it expected the trend to continue, and anticipated a 95% adoption rate by 2020, with the internet becoming as widespread and familiar a tool as the television.
