British Telecommunications Plc has given Sun Microsystems Inc a worldwide supply agreement for Sparc-based workstations and servers both for internal use and resale and expected to be worth UKP7m in year one: the move steps up Telecom’s commitment to Unix in the Sparc architecture – last week, ICL announced a UKP2m order from the phone company for its DRS 6000s (CI No 1,357).
