BRITISH TELECOM TO PARTICIPATE IN FEASIBILITY STUDY TO CREATE EUROPE-WIDE MANAGED DATA NETWORK

While much preferring a series of bilateral arrangements between companies in a competitive framework, the British government has been forced to allow British Telecom to participate in a study into the fesibility of creating a Europe-wide managed data network for large companies, which is being conducted by the post and telephone authorities of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Eire, Finland, West Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
