BRITISH TELECOM OPENS FIRST OF 30 BUSINESS CENTRES

British Telecommunications Plc yesterday opened the first of 30 British Telecom Business Centres planned over the next 18 months. The i-dea is that customers will be invi-ted to the centres – offices rather than storefronts – and Telecom will have facilities to demonstrate or discuss each of the 4,000 telecomm- unications products and services that it offers. The first Business Centre is in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. The company also hin-ted that it planned to expand its chain of retail high street Telephone Shops, currently 60-strong.
