BRITISH RAILWAYS APPROVES SEMA’S BID FOR BR BUSINESS SYSTEMS

Sema Group Plc reports that the British Railways Board approved its bid for BR Business Systems Ltd, a firm formed to take over British Rail’s business services division. The company designs and operates the main railway information technology infrastructure for the UK, including ticketing, asset management, timetabling and other services. It has around 1,100 staff and had net assets of #13.2m as of October 12 last year, Sema said; the terms have not been disclosed.
