The UK government awarded a 300m contract for two Skynet military communications satellites to a consortium led by British Aerospace Plc: the Anglo-French Matra Marconi Space SA will supply the satellites and McDonnell Douglas Corp and European rocket agency Arianespace will handle the satellite launches.
