Business intelligence software provider Brio Technology Inc got its initial public offering of 2.9 million shares of its common stock away at $11 per share. Of the total being offered, 2,775,000 were sold by the company, and 125,000 by stockholders. That leaves Brio with $30.5m, before expenses. The shares began trading Friday on the Nasdaq National Market under the symbol BRYO and closed at $13.3125, after hitting a high of $14.25, on a volume of 4.9 million. Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Inc, BancAmerica Robertson Stephens, First Albany Corporation and Piper Jaffray Inc managed the offering.
