Brazil’s Federal Department of Justice selects 3Com’s H3C enterprise networking offerings

To modernise the Republic’s Attorney General offices

By CBR Staff Writer

The Brazil’s Federal Department of Justice has selected 3Com and its H3C enterprise networking offerings for modernising the Republic’s Attorney General’s offices.

According to 3Com, the network upgrade project includes offerings such as 140 H3C S7500E next-generation high-end multi-service routing switches in the distribution layer; 50 H3C S5600 Gigabit stackable switches at the network edge; and H3C Intelligent Management Center (IMC) network management software.

3Com said that the H3C IMC network management software is a management offering allowing management that gives network managers a single-pane view of an entire heterogeneous enterprise network, including non-3Com/H3C devices, to offer more efficiency and value. It can be deployed across multiple servers to provide complete management of resources, services and users, helping to reduce network administration costs.

Working with its H3C channel partner Redisul, 3Com said that it will initially install equipment in 44 Federal Department of Justice’s regional branches. PRG becomes another of the valued 3Com customers within the government vertical market, which also includes, Sao Paulo State’ Supreme Justice Court, Infraero, Ceara State’s Technology Company (ETICE).

Adriano Gaudencio, president of 3Com’s Brazil, said: “The Department’s new LAN will be expanded to include our H3C core switches, which will offer more performance, dependability and future growth capacity, and support the Department’s growing voice, video and data traffic requirements.

“More and more companies in the region are recognising that they no longer have to pay a premium for high-quality, enterprise networking solutions and 3Com with our H3C portfolio gives them everything they need and more, for less.”
