The Alcatel-Lucent IP/MPLS solution will allow Brasil Telecom to offer both fixed and mobile residential broadband, as well as business VPN services from a single platform, resulting in improved operational simplicity, flexibility and lower costs. This multi-million Euro contract solidifies Alcatel-Lucent as the number one IP edge provider in Brazil for fixed carriers.
Alcatel-Lucent will deploy its IP/MPLS portfolio in main cities across 14 states in Brazil. The Alcatel-Lucent solution consists of the 7750 service router, 7450 ethernet service switch and 5620 Service Aware Manager (SAM). Alcatel-Lucent also will provide suite of network integration services, including network optimization, system support and general project management
