BrainTree Security Software, a privately held, Massachusetts-based database security software company, yesterday announced that it will add support for Sybase and Microsoft databases in response to customer demand. The company which has previously only provided support for Oracle said large corporations are now running multiple databases and require cross-database security. Product marketing manager at BrainTree, Tom Turner, explained that its SQL Secure database security manager will enable security managers to define a single policies for multiple databases without infringing the access rights of database managers. The company plans to release versions supporting IBM’s DB2 and other databases in future.
