eBay owned company Braintree has partnered with PayPal to create a new service called PayPal One Touch, which is aimed at simplifying the mobile checkout process for online shoppers.
The app is expected to be another version of of Braintree’s Venmo Touch product, which allows money transfer through an app with the ability to cash it out to the bank overnight.
Braintree also has another app called Venmo Touch that stores user information required for online checkout.
With the launch of the PayPal One, merchants will be able to accept mobile payment through their native apps.
With the integrated app, the checkout process will be simplified and users will not have to tap through multiple screens to buy a single product.
Braintree CEO Bill Ready told Recode: "We think … this will be the absolutely easiest and safest way to pay on a mobile device.
"A couple of years from now, if you encounter anything apart from this kind of experience on mobile, you’ll think it’s archaic."
Braintree will not shut Venmo Touch. Instead, with the launch of the new payment platform, users will get a choice to make payments.
