BQM DEMONSTRATES E-COMMERCE APPS AT SAP SHOW

By CBR Staff Writer

The Business Quality Messaging, or BQM forum used SAP’s SAPPHIRE 98 user conference in Los Angeles to unveil the first demonstrations of e-commerce applications connected to SAP’s R/3 system over the internet using BQM technology. The technology, which enables mission critical applications, like R/3, to communicate securely over the internet, was developed by forum partner’s Intel Corp, Microsoft Corp, Compaq Computer Corp and AT&T. Mark Smith, business manager, Intel and BQM Forum chairman told ComputerWire that the BQM technology will be incorporated into products such as IBM’s MQSeries and Microsoft’s MSMQ to enable any off the shelf application to exchange messages reliably over corporate networks.
