BP will install the software solution at over 27,000 petrol stations, convenience stores and quick service restaurants across 18 countries. Retalix commented that BP wanted to establish a consistent, global retail technology framework across its entire retail operation.

Retalix StorePoint is a hardware-independent suite of applications, supporting various fuel, retail and foodservice formats, as well as multiple languages and currencies, in a single integrated solution.

Retalix said that its StorePoint solution has been piloted in several BP locations worldwide during the past two years, and that global deployment began in Australia in February 2007. The solution is currently being installed in all BP company-owned stores globally, a process which will take place over the next three years.

We have sought to implement common business processes and a common architecture to drive operational excellence at reduced operating costs, said Ed Alford, chief information manager of convenience retail at BP.

Mr Alford added: The Retalix solution provides BP with the functionality needed to support the expanding business of our fuels sites, convenience stores and quick service restaurants.
