Borland International Inc took the unusual step of requesting a court injunction against itself preventing it from selling any more copies of the versions of Quattro Pro that have been found to infringe Lotus Development Corp copyrights – the reason being that the injunction ensures that its appeal will be heard by the US Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston; Judge Robert Keeton also set October 3 1994 as the date for starting a trial on the level of damages owed to Lotus.
