BORLAND LOOSES CHIEF SCIENTIST

By CBR Staff Writer

Borland International Inc, the Scotts Valley, California software publishing company whose shares are traded in London, has lost its chief scientist, Rob Shostak, whom it acquired with Ansa Corp: Shostak has agreed to continue to consult for Borland, but he’s off to start his own software development company with funding from a venture capital consortium; Shostak was one of the two designers of the Paradox database system but says his new firm’s developments will not compete with current Borland products.
