Borland International Inc has upgraded its Quattro Pro spreadsheet with a new 2.0 release which includes a Solve For facility that solves what-if scenarios with a single keystroke: ideal for cooking your expenses, it calculates a formula backwards, starting with the desired result and adjusts a user-specified variable that contributes to that result; Paradox Access enables users to run Quattro Pro 2.0 from within Borland’s Paradox 3.5 database, load a Paradox table into a spreadsheet, work with the table in Quattro Pro, then return to Paradox; it can also access Paradox SQL Link to bring SQL data into Quattro Pro for further data analysis and presentation; Graph buttons enable users to create branching slide shows or information gathering systems activated by pressing a button; it sells for $500 and ships in 60 days; upgrading costs $80, $100 for users moving from a competing spreadsheet.
