Borland International Inc launched release 4.0 of its Quattro Pro spreadsheet with immediate availability: it adds speedbar controls,dialogue boxes, custom styles, better NetWare support, intelligent graphs, zoom and pan, optimiser, Bitstream Font Scaling Technology, background printing and compatibility with Allways, Impress, WYSIWYG and 1-2-3 Release 3.X; it’s $500, a Quattro Pro LAN Pack, which adds one additional user to the network, is $400; upgrades cost $80, $50 for those that bought after July 1; it also costs $100 to switch from either Lotus Development Corp’s 1-2-3 or from Microsoft Corp’s Excel.
