BORLAND FIRES 13%, SEES LOSS

Borland International Inc says it will report a loss for the current quarter as a result of a company-wide restructuring that will cost the jobs of 13% of the workforce. The company aims to cut expenditure by $500,000 to $1m a month through the measures, which see consolidation of sales functions and creation of an OEM new business department.
