Spreadsheet programs may be the most terminally boring applications ever dreamed up by the personal computer software industry, but they are big business, so lots of people will want to know that Borland International Inc has come out with Quattro Pro claimed to pack more features into less computer memory than any PC spreadsheet ever developed: it uses Borland’s proprietary Virtual Real-time Object-Oriented Memory Manager to make possible multi-page consolidation and advanced spreadsheet publishing features in a single product, and gives users the ability to load very large spreadsheets and access advanced features in as little as 512Kb memory; compatible with Lotus Development Corp’s 1-2-3, it is promised for the fourth quarter (but it is Borland so don’t hold your breath) and will cost $500.
