Borland International Inc has introduced Borland C.., claimed to be the only complete C and C.. programming environment for building MS-DOS and Windows applications – and for once it is available immediately. The company describes it as two compilers in one: an ANSI C compiler and a C.. compiler and says it enables programmers to compile their largest possible applications where previously, large applications might ran out of memory while compiling. Windows programmers do not need the Microsoft Windows Software Development Kit because everything is in the compiler. Turbo Drive enables the compiler and development environment to run in protected mode. It needs 640Kb, MS-DOS 3 up and hard disk and costs $500, $150 to Turbo C and Turbo C.. users, $100 to Turbo C or C.. Professional users.
