The monthly book-to-bill ratio chip indicator fell to 1.04 from 1.15 in May because of a slowing of new orders, the Semiconductor Industry Association reports. Average shipments for the three months to May rose 2.5% to $1,295.7m, but orders were down 6.9% to $1,354m. The March book-to-bill figure was revised upwards and has now been confirmed at 1.10.
