Apple Computer vice-president Jean-Louis Gasse’e is getting quite a reputation for outspoken comments about the business and a number of bon mots were picked up by Microbytes Daily at a Berkeley conference the other day: on the need to make all those databases accessible he demanded the US government build federal data interstate freeway; on the difficulty of accessing information he declared When I log on to Nexis, for example, you’d think the interface was written by the KGB; on networks, he applied the old French maxim if you like to eat sausages, make sure you never find out how they’re made.
