Boeing Computer Services has teamed up with Century Research Centre, one of Japan’s largest software houses and originally a joint venture between the C Itoh trading house and Daiichi Kangyoo Bank: the new joint venture will provide design, development and maintenance services for systems running on supercomputers those from Cray Research Inc, NEC, Fujitsu, Hitachi and any others that show up in Japan or elsewhere in the Far East including Singapore and South Korea; Boeing hopes that the library of applications software for supercomputers it has built up will find a market in Japan; C Itoh has a long relationship with Boeing Co, being the distributor of Boeing fighter planes, while Century Research Center first installed a Cray back in 1980.
