Boca Raton, Florida-based, datacommunications and multimedia equipment manufacturer Boca Research Inc is the latest company to come up with a way to tie two modems and analog phone lines together to give near ISDN speed internet access, which it calls DynamicDuo technology. Boca is following hard on the heels of Diamond Multimedia Systems Inc, and Interex Inc, both of which have announced their flavors of modem bundling in the last week. It is claiming technical superiority due to the use of Middlebury, Connecticut-based, Midcore Software Inc’s modem sharing software. As with the other developers of the systems, Boca claims that the modem driver software works to intelligently manage the calls, and will drop one connection upon an incoming call. The dual K56Flex modems will be shipping by the end of December, and the price is due to be announced at the trade show Comdex in November.
