BOCA HAS NEW DATA/FAX COMPATIBLE WITH V.FAST STANDARD

Boca Research Inc, headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, has introduced a new data/fax modem conforming to the V.Fast Class standard. The model is based on the Rockwell V.Fast Class chip set, and is said to transmit data at speeds up to 24Kbps, and fax up to 14.4Kbps. Using V.42/MNP2-4 error correction and V.42bis/MNP5 data compression, it is claimed to have maximum throughput of 115.2Kbps. The internal version of the product is to cost $400, with the external modem costing $500. Simultaneously, the company announced price cuts of 40% on its existing V.32bis modems.
