BMC said the addition of Calendra’s business view of directory-centric information and an easily customizable delegated workflow environment will be a major enhancement to BMC’s identity management offerings, and will enable it to produce systems that include enterprise directories, workflow, PBX management, and active directory management.

It said the combination of BMC’s provisioning software Control-SA with Calendra’s workflow and directory management capabilities will give customers a more complete business management suite. It also said the identity services architecture of the combined software will enable customers to enhance and customize capabilities to reflect their business processes by introducing a Java-based rapid application tool.

Calendra has more than 200 customers and five million managed users worldwide.
