In addition to a number of performance enhancements, and building on the platform’s current 802.11n ready capabilities, key new features added in this release include enhanced client scanning, Ortronics Wi-Jack Duo access point support and centralized guest management services, said Bluesocket.

According to the company, version 6.4 of its wireless LAN software introduces BlueProtect, an integrated endpoint client scanning solution. Managed via the administration GUI of Bluesocket’s BlueSecure Controllers, BlueProtect allows IT staff to monitor, control and enforce policies relating to antivirus, antispyware, firewall, antiphishing and other endpoint security applications.

Bluesocket said that additional capabilities available in the BlueSecure 6.4 software release include: improvements including a new loadsharing GUI and failover capabilities; RF-IDS improvements for scalability and RF containment; credit card billing internationalization; admin port enhancements for authentication, configuration and reporting.

Mads Lillelund, CEO and president of Bluesocket, said: Supported by our open architecture and software portability, Bluesocket continues to lead the market with vendor independent secure mobility and wireless LAN management solutions. The new features and enhancements available in this release provide our customers and partners with significant performance, cost savings and time to market advantages as they deploy and manage a diverse mix of wireless LAN infrastructure elements and applications to meet their internal productivity needs.
