Bluebird Software is to keep the exclusive UK marketing rights to RMS/38 despite the recent acquisition by Pansophic Systems Inc of the System 38 manufacturing, distribution and financial package’s developer Professional Computer Resources Inc. Announcing the decision, Pansophic vice-president for applications software products and former Professional president Jeff Carr described Bluebird as probably the UK’s number one System 38 agent and a company with which Pansophic was looking forward to developing a long-term strategic patnership. The acquisition of Professional represents Pansophic’s first venture into the IBM System 38 market and extends the trend, which includes Management Science America’s purchase of Real Time Software, of IBM mainframe software vendors buying System 38 houses.
