The IBM agent and systems house Bluebird Software of Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire is moving towards public status with a placing on the Unlisted Security Market in the plan within the next two years. The company, which was set up in 1983 has grown to a turnover of UKP9m, a figure which is expected to rise to UKP15m in the current financial year. Bluebird supplies modular applications for the distribution, manufacturing and retail industries and has recently moved into the local government sector with a package for the management of the imminent community charge. The package runs on IBM’s AS/400 range and has been badged by IBM as the IBM Community Charge. Bluebird intends to come to the market to raise money for acquisitions and is currently in process of negotiating re-registration as a Plc.
