Self-styled blog software specialist Traction Software Inc is OEMing FAST’s InStream software to provide companies with a way to tap into valuable business knowledge and personal insights contained in corporate blogs.
The integration will layer search and navigation capabilities on top of Traction’s TeamPage-branded enterprise blog suite that lets companies create, analyze and share market research, competitive intelligence, corporate communications and business development information.
InStream is an OEM-specific enterprise search product developed specifically for integration with third-party ISV applications.
Blogs are one of the fastest growing enterprise solutions, said Ali Riaz, president of Oslo-based FAST. Businesses are recognizing that the ability to easily find information contained within enterprise blogs is critical to improving worker productivity.
Providence, Rhode Island-based Traction says the collaborative and information sharing of its TeamPage software combines the best of Blog and Wiki models with built-in sharing and versioning of office documents in context.
The company’s products are designed to plug into existing corporate IT infrastructures or sun as standalone applications on intranets.
Traction was founded in 1996 as Twisted Systems, Inc to develop web-based end-user hypertext journaling software that eliminates the barriers to effective team communications and information management.
Its TeamPage enterprise blog management software was first commercially launched in July 2002 and is widely used in enterprises, universities and several US government agencies. The company is funded by In-Q-Tel, the venture arm of the CIA.
