BLIND JUSTICE

By CBR Staff Writer

Justice, like love, is of course blind, and no matter where you go in the US, you will get more or less the same decision and the same remedy, won’t you? Well, not quite judging by the dissident shareholders’ suit brought against General Motors Corp over the $740m pay-off to Ross Perot and his cronies: the New York court hearing the case ruled that it should of course be heard in Delaware, where General Motors, like so many of the great and the good among US corporations is registered – oh nooooo! wailed the plaintiffs – Delaware courts are not nearly such a soft touch as New York in cases like this one.
