In aid of the One Tablet Per Child program (OTPC) in Thailand, Blancco has offered its data erasure and computer reuse solutions.

As part of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and Ministry of Education initiative, Blancco will be using its mobile solution to eliminate the risk of costly data breaches and comply with standards and regulations pertaining to data privacy.

"We are pleased to support a world-class IT and education program with our Blancco Mobile software," said Kim Väisänen, CEO and co-founder of Blancco. "It is yet another example of how Blancco Mobile plays a vital security role for securing children’s data."

Beginning in 2014, Blancco Mobile will erase personal data on OTPC tablets for elementary, junior high and senior high students throughout Thailand when tablets require repair, replacement or disposal. This program covers 850,000 tablets that were already distributed, plus another 1.7 million tablets scheduled for distribution in 2014.

"The aim of the OTPC program is to reduce the social gap of education inequality and increase literacy by analyzing students’ performance data recorded in the tablet. For protecting children’s data on tablets, Blancco Mobile is a crucial solution," says Anudith Nakornthap, minister of information and communication technology.

"Not only government and education, but corporations in Thailand should erase data on mobile devices upon device disposal or replacement timing."
