Cambridge, Massachusetts type font developer Bitstream Inc, which wrapped up acquisition of its UK agent earlier this month, now has a letter of intent to acquire Archetype Inc for an undisclosed sun in cash and shares. Archetype will continue to operate as a subsidiary under that name. Archetype, Burlington, Massachusetts develops and markets server-based information management software for use in graphic arts. The aim is to combine products to create comprehensive offerings to make management, distribution and imaging of electronic documents easier, faster and more reliable.
