York-based BIT Communications Ltd has launched CityLAN16, its Token Ring fibre optic repeater offerings. The company says, the product supports transmission of 4Mbps and 16Mbps 802.5 data over single mode or multimode fibre. The units support either unshielded or shielded twisted pair, and feature automatic back-up path protection, recovery and an alarm-management interface. It’s out now but BIT won’t give a price.
