Microsoft’s search engine Bing and social media analytics firm Klout are partnering to help enrich the web discovery and influencers across both Bing and Klout platforms.
The collaboration will include Klout Scores and influential topics into the Social Sidebar and after doing a search on the Bing, the "People Who Know" section of the Social Sidebar will allow people to find out who are influential about the topic you searched. Bing says it will help people connect with the right experts.
Klout CEO Joe Fernandez said in a blogpost that the partnership will help people understand their influence, and be recognised for it.
Under the new agreement, Microsoft will display Klout scores and influential topics for many of the experts in the People Who Know section of the Bing’s sidebar.
Additionally, Klout will surface highlights from Bing in the ‘moments’ section of some people’s Klout users profiles, demonstrating how search can be a powerful new indicator of online influence.
The engineering teams from both the firms will work together to expand the scope of social search and influence.
The partnership will offer platform enhancements that enrich the discovery and recognition of influencers on both Bing and Klout.
In addition to the partnership, the search engine will also make an unspecified strategic investment in the social media analytics firm.
