Bezeq Israel Telecommunications Ltd and Deutsche Telekom AG have held talks concerning expanding co-operation in Hungary and Israel. It said its president Isaac Kaul met Deutsche Telekom chairman Ron Sommer in Germany last week and discussed expanding a joint venture in Hungary to cover other parts of the country – it is involved in a joint venture with Matav, the Hungarian telecommunications company in which Deutsche Telekom has a stake. The joint venture is installing 100,000 telephone lines in three provinces in southern Hungary. Bezeq also proposed that the Deutsche Telekom consortium bidding for a tender for international services in Israel in competition with Bezeq, use Bezeq infrastructure if it wins the deal.
