Web-based software retailer Beyond.com Inc has gone to Novadigm Inc for its Radia software update technology, to enable users of its service to get updates and fixes for software bought through its web site. It will be the first subscription-based service Beyond.com has offered. Until now, users have had to search manually for updates and fixes to the software they have bought from the web site. Novadigm, normally quite eager to trumpet the value of each contract it wins, was mute on financial terms yesterday as it is in its quiet period leading up to its first quarter results announcement on January 27. The company has seen its modest share price climb quite sharply since it announced a deal with Sybase Inc in November and launched version 2.0 of Radia. Sybase is deploying both Radia and the Mahwah, New Jersey firm’s other main product, its enterprise desktop management (EDM) suite.
