Microsoft Corp says its forthcoming Windows for Workgroups 3.1 Windows 3.1 with integrated networking, scheduling and electronic mail, is now in a widespread beta test at 8,000 sites: in its final release, it will include network client software compatible with both Novell Inc NetWare and Microsoft LAN Manager, and improvements to the Windows File Manager; integration of Windows-based applications with Microsoft SQL Server running natively under Vines will be showcased on the Microsoft stand at the Association of Banyan Users International Fall Conference in Boston, September 20 to 24, Microsoft adds.
