The Federal German Cartel Office believes the planned joint venture between Bertelsmann AG, Deutsche Bundespost Telekom and Bavarian media mogul Leo Kirch on multimedia content and services for contravenes competition rules, Der Spiegel reported: the three parties announced plans in April to set up a new pay television service company called Media Service GmbH but Spiegel reported that the cartel office believed the state telephone monopoly would have an even stronger market position after the venture.
