BELTSVILLE SHARES PLUMMET

Beltsville, Maryland-based Micros Systems Inc stock lost more than half its value on Monday after the company warned of disappointing earnings in the third quarter despite an expected rise in sales. The shares fell $26 at $24.75; Micros, which makes electronic cash registers and data terminals expects third- quarter net down from the $2.2m, 28 cents a share it earned in the year-ago period, when it had sales of $25.2m. Analysts had expected earnings of 40 cents per share.
